Beyond Developer Portal retirement: what you need to know

As part of Global Payments' ongoing mission to provide developers with cutting-edge tools and experiences, we are announcing the planned retirement of the Beyond Developer Portal. This transition aligns with our broader strategy following the acquisition of Beyond, allowing us to consolidate our developer resources and focus on modern, scalable solutions.

Why the Beyond Developer Portal is being retired

The Beyond Developer Portal has served as a hub for developers offering essential resources for payment integrations. Over the years, it has supported countless integrations and played a vital role in enabling developers to access Beyond’s solutions.

However, as the payments industry evolves and our product portfolio expands, certain legacy systems no longer meet the high standards of efficiency and support that we aim to provide. The Beyond Developer Portal, while functional, has reached the end of its lifecycle, and the resources required to maintain it — both from a technical and support perspective — outweigh the benefits of keeping it active.

By retiring this legacy portal, we are focusing on enhancing our unified developer platform, where you can expect more advanced tools, better support and a more streamlined experience.

What developers need to know about the transition

The retirement of the Beyond Developer Portal is already in progress. We are currently implementing redirects to ensure developers are guided to alternative resources without disruption to their workflows. Specifically, the WordPress plugins hosted on the portal remain available for the time being, allowing developers to continue their work while we complete the transition.

Rest assured, we are committed to providing a smooth transition for all developers using the portal. Our teams are preparing targeted communications to help guide you through this shift. Detailed documentation, alternative solutions and updates will be shared with developers to ensure you have all the resources you need.

What to expect from the Global Payments Developer Portal

The retirement of the Beyond Developer Portal is part of a larger initiative to consolidate our developer resources under a single, more comprehensive platform. The Global Payments Developer Portal is designed to be a one-stop shop for all your integration needs, from APIs to SDKs and plugins to comprehensive documentation. By focusing our efforts on this platform, we can provide a more robust and modern developer experience.

Key features you can expect from the Global Payments Developer Portal include:

  • Unified API access: A single API supporting omni-channel and international transactions.
